It is also good to see companies making great alternatives ala Affinity Designer. They got a long way to go in that regard but I trust that they'll eventually make the right decisions. It is good to see that they're finally rebranding flash and moving towards html5 and the future. Adobe messed up with many of their acquisitions the same as Autodesk and stayed on the flash bandwagon for too long. Freehand was a great competitor to Illustrator in its day with a different methodology that had its fans (including myself), but I've come to terms with it long ago and just figured out how to use Illustrator. Sketch for Mac has lost its edge and I find myself using Illustrator CC almost every single day. That being said, their offerings for iOS need more focus. I love their new libraries feature because it enables me to use my graphics in all of my Adobe programs. I really like what they're doing and I'm a CC subscriber. Maybe Adobe will come out with an lite version of Illustrator that will do a better job than Illustrator Draw. Let's hope they don't rest on their laurels like they tend to do with their many acquisitions. Right now it seems as though Autodesk is holding the best vector application for iOS. IConcepts is a nice design app but its interface is a bit confusing and too gimmicky for me. I've yet to find something that'll do that. What I'm trying to figure out is what apps support importing and editing SVGs. Path-joining has been around since long before Autodesk purchased this app and rebranded it (taking all of the credit). I think the author of this article clearly has not used this tool.

Pugg openly remarks, “ it’s fucking loud”, and is surprised as Chucky repeats the phrase back. His dog barks at the doll, causing Andy’s hearing aid to emit a loud noise. While working out his plan in the hallway, they meet Falyn and Pugg. He is stopped by Andy, who tells him that he is not allowed to hurt people, but excludes Shane and comes up with a plan to have the doll scare him by making a scary face. When Andy leaves to get a band-aid, Chucky tries to strangle the cat to death in an effort to protect his friend. Chucky is confused by the sight of blood, and comes to the conclusion that the cat hurt Andy. However, Andy is scratched by his cat after dropping the dice on the ground. The two go back to their apartment, and play a board game together. He confides in the doll his feelings about Shane, calling him an asshole. Noticing his mother's boyfriend Shane on the couch, he takes Chucky outside with him to a nearby picnic table. The doll waits the entire day for Andy to come home, and presents him with a busted popsicle stick as a present. Mimicking the Buddi commercial, he repeatedly tries giving Andy his Science book which in reality is stuff from around the apartment, like toilet paper and a soccer ball. In the morning, Andy takes Chucky around with him as he gets ready for school, and he mimics everything the boy does, from brushing his teeth to stabbing bread with a knife. In the middle of the night, Andy wakes up to find Chucky watching him sleep, and he begins singing the Buddi Song to him again. Before going to bed, Chucky begins singing the Buddi Song to Andy but distorts at the end. He glitches out further when Andy tries to connect him to the Cloud in order interact with other Kaslan devices.Īndy takes Chucky back to his room, and is surprised to hear him repeat the phrase " total dick" when referring to his cat Mickey Rooney. When Andy tries to get Chucky to turn the television on, he cannot process the command. Slowly warming up to the doll, he tries to name him "Han Solo", but the doll mishears him and christens itself Chucky. The doll scans Andy to imprint him as his best friend, and mistakenly believes Andy's name to be " Andysup". Its eyes flash red, crackling with static, and the doll's voice initially glitches when asks Andy if he is his "best buddy". Connecting the doll to his phone, the Buddi app fails to load correctly but the doll boots up regardless. Karen encourages him to at least try it out, but warns it may not work right as it's been refurbished. He is disinterested about the doll at first, insisting that it is for little kids. After blackmailing her boss Wes to get her son Andy an early birthday gift, she presents the Buddi doll to her son. However, three weeks later she returns it to the customer service desk, explaining to Karen that the doll was not working properly and its eyes were glowing red. The doll is shipped out to a Zed-Mart in Chicago, where it is bought by a woman. I have never seen anything from this director but maybe I will keep an eye out for him in the future.Chucky is made in a Kaslan factory in Vietnam, where one of the employees, embittered by the abuse from his boss, shuts down all of the Buddi doll’s language and behavior safeguards, violence inhibitors, and safety protocols before killing himself. I am struck by the sense that the movie is in good hands. Somehow, the camp slowly faded and it gets replaced by a competent effort in all areas. The first visual is the ugly mug of the doll and it seems to be well on its way. Before watching it, I had full expectation of an ugly mess. It seems to dabble in some camp but mostly, it's a sincere horror. If one overlooks those stuff, this is actually a well-made horror movie. Chucky, with the bad programming, starts killing and Detective Mike investigates. Detective Mike Norris (Brian Tyree Henry) is the son of the Barclays' neighbor. She is desperate to get a Buddi and the store cashier takes a damaged returned doll from her workplace. Karen Barclay (Aubrey Plaza) is a struggling single mom to hearing impaired Andy. A disgruntled employee turns off all the safeguards in one of the dolls. It's a high-tech companion that can connect to the myriad of Kaslan products. Buddi is a doll produced by the Kaslan Corporation. She points out the commission provides agencies with information they need to apply for funds to provide services for children across the state. “It seems like the majority, every time somebody puts out something they don’t like, they want to get rid of it,” says Lamar, a Memphis Democrat. London Lamar, chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus, calls the effort to kill the commission “an abomination.” That should be a win, and this effort suggests that we care more about the headlines than the outcomes,” Yarbro says. “One of the things this Legislature is trying to achieve this year is making big, substantial improvements in the Department of Children’s Services. Jeff Yarbro agrees, saying lawmakers from across the state were “deluged” this week by people back home who “value” the work the commission has done for decades and oppose what he calls a “lame effort to get some payback” for doing its job. He notes lawmakers have heard from constituents in support of the commission. “It was dropped kind of suddenly on everyone,” says Watson, a Hixson Republican. Bo Watson, chairman of the Senate Finance, Ways and Means Committee, points out Health Committee members wanted the weekend to digest the bill. She is said to be a stumbling block, but she declined to comment on the legislation Wednesday, saying she hadn’t read it. Mary Littleton, a Dickson Republican who chairs the Children and Family Affairs Subcommittee, confirmed the bill would have to go through her panel. Johnson, who was to be briefed on the bill at mid-week, was unavailable for comment after Thursday’s legislative session. The governor’s office wants to eliminate the commission, even as the state tries to clean up the Department of Children’s Services, which still has kids staying in state offices in Memphis. The Legislature created the 21-member independent group 35 years ago to provide it with unbiased information and to act as a third party for independent investigations involving children in state custody. Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson had to postpone the governor’s legislation for a week after commission backers packed the Senate Health and Welfare Committee meeting and supporters slammed lawmakers with phone calls in response to the last-minute bill drop. The Lee Administration’s plan to dissolve the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth- apparently for reporting the state’s foster care system is the nation’s worst - is running into trouble. However, the parking area near the arrivals hall was cordoned off. The airport remained open and arrivals and departures were not affected. Police spokesman Dwayne Caines stated during an earlier media briefing that three people had been quarantined from Airport Operations as a precaution, along with three first responders. He also declined to comment on where the package had been sent from. He was unable to give an age or parish of residence for the staff member, but said she is female. He added: “One of the staff who initially opened the package has gone to the hospital as a routine procedure and there aren’t any major injuries.” Mr Weekes said a Government analyst was examining the package to determine the contents, but “we are not treating it as explosive at this time”. We are treating it as a suspicious package at this time, until we decide otherwise.” “The emergency services responded, and the envelope was taken to the police station for further investigation. Speaking around two hours after the alert, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Martin Weekes said: “Just after 5pm, the Department of Airport Operations at LF Wade International Airport reported to the police that there was an envelope which they had concerns about. Police, fire and ambulance crews were sent to the LF Wade International Airport to deal with the incident yesterday. A female airport worker was taken to hospital and six people “quarantined” after an envelope containing a suspicious substance was discovered at the facility.
